Aval Moong Dal Jaggery kheer is a Prasadham for Lord Krishna.


Thick Aval - 50gm
Moong dal - 2 table spoon
Grated coconut - 2 table spoon
Jaggery - 6 table spoon
boiled milk 200ml
Ghee 1/1 teaspoon
cashew nut, raisins - few
dry ginger, cardamom powder - 3 pinch


Dry roast the moong dal, cook softly and mash it. Wash the aval and soak it in 1/2 cup of water for 10 mins. Boil 1/2 cup of water and add the soaked aval in the hot water, cook the moong dal and allow it to boil. Add jaggery and leave until it melts. Add roasted coconut, nuts, raisins separately in ghee. Add this to the boiling payasam or kheer. Add Cardamom powder dry ginger powder and mix well. Add the milk and just allow it for 1 boil. The kheer is ready.
